Pennsylvania U.S. Senator Dave McCormick spoke with students today at a Susquehanna Valley school on the importance of school choice and a tax credit that gives parents money toward private school tuition. The first-term Republican visited the Silver Academy in Harrisburg, a Jewish day school, to advocate for the “Education Freedom Tax Credit.” McCormick claimed the federal tax credit would allow taxpayers to receive $1,700 but that states need to opt into it and Pennsylvania has not done so. The money comes from the Trump-backed “Working Families Tax Cut” that recently passed through Congress. McCormick said it goes past initial choice, as a little extra money could also allow kids to move from schools they’re not comfortable learning in.
