Paul ‘Pauly’ Berta
OBITUARY
Paul Pauly Berta, 69, of Jessup, died Thursday at Geisinger CMC in Scranton surrounded by his family.
Born in Peckville, he was the son of the late Edward and Eleanor Bisignani Berta.
Paul was a self-employed Carpenter and the kind of man who could walk into any room and tell you exactly how he would have built it better. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Pauly never met a problem he couldn’t fix, a project he couldn’t build, or a question he didn’t already have the answer to. Whether he was tinkering in the garage, working on a car, or carefully tending to his beloved train set, he was most at home when his hands were busy and a cold beer was within reach. More than anything, he knew how to laugh and how to make everyone around him laugh too. He had a one-liner for every occasion, an opinion on everything, and the unshakeable confidence to deliver both whether you asked for them or not. His humor was his love language; it was how he filled a room and made everyone around him feel like they were exactly where they were supposed to be.
Surviving are his daughter Tyra Berta and fiance Kolton Begley, Pittston; his siblings, Shirley Sebastianelli and husband Ben, Karen Narcavage, Robert Berta and wife Judy and Mark Berta, all of Jessup; his nieces and nephews, Lori Toczydlowsky and husband Joseph, Archbald, Sheri Fay, Phila., Michael Narcavage, Jessup, Nicole Helcoski and husband Jason, Jessup, Stephanie Berta, Justus, Robert Berta Jr, Jessup, Amanda Fratangelo and husband Anthony, Edward Berta and wife Ciara Berta, Justine Rotell and husband AJ Rotell, MD, Angela Berta, Old Forge; his dear friends, Myles Swift, Louis M. Margotta Jr. and Jack Charney.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Edward Berta and friend James Walsh
There will be a blessing service on Wednesday at 7pm at Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St., Jessup, celebrated by Father Richard Cirba. Viewing hours will be held prior from 5 to 7pm. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
