ALLENTOWN, Pa. – An Allentown radio host is hitting the open road for a cause.
Victor Martinez from Mega 101.7 FM has set off on a 15-day cross-country motorcycle ride to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
His journey began Saturday morning with a send-off event at Bennett Toyota in Allentown.
Martinez’s first major stop: Memphis, Tennessee – where he’ll visit St. Jude before continuing on to California and back.
“I have been working with St. Jude’s for the last 20 years, and I even have the St Jude’s logo tattooed on my arm. So to celebrate the 20 years that I have been with St Jude’s, we decided we wanted to do something big, something different. So we got this great idea. I will get my motorcycle and I will drive from Allentown to St Jude, Memphis, then from there to California and back,” Martinez said.
He’ll broadcast his morning show from the road, encouraging listeners to become “Angels of Hope” and help support children battling cancer.
