A wanted Forty Fort man arrested Monday during a drug deal with a confidential informant in Old Forge had an illegal weapon that was stolen last year, investigators say.
Steven Antonio Miller, 25, of 1512 Wyoming Ave., faces felony charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and related charges.
According to the criminal complaint, investigators met with a confidential informant on April 20, who agreed to facilitate a drug transaction with Miller.
Officers recorded the informant’s communications with Miller, during which the two planned a drug transaction at McDonald’s restaurant in Old Forge. Investigators then took the informant to McDonald’s, where the informant was kept under constant surveillance.
Investigators spotted Miller arriving in a white Nissan Rogue, with a female passenger.
Miller entered the restaurant and told the informant he needed money and would return with the crack cocaine. He then began running and entered the passenger side of the vehicle with a woman at the wheel.
Investigators moved in and arrested him near West Mary Street and South Main Avenue, Old Forge.
Miller admitted to detectives that he had a gun and officers found a Glock handgun in his front waistband.
They found one round in the chamber and an additional 19 rounds of hollow-point ammunition inside the magazine.
Miller told officers he was wanted, but hadn’t turned himself in because he was trying to get a lawyer.
He agreed to a search of his bag found inside the vehicle. There officers found an additional magazine containing 14 rounds of hollow-point ammunition.
Officers spoke with the female driver of the vehicle, who said she does “cash Uber” and had picked Miller up at Sherman Hills in Wilkes-Barre.
Investigators noted Miller was precluded from owning a gun because of outstanding warrants, which made him a fugitive from justice.
The investigation further revealed that the firearm, a Glock .40 caliber handgun, was reported stolen to the Wyoming Regional Police Department in November 2025.
Miller is also wanted out of Luzerne County for a previous firearms offense and flight to avoid apprehension
The weapon was the fourth gun recovered in Lackawanna County during the past week, according to Lackawanna County District Attorney Brian Gallagher.
“This arrest underscores the continued collaborative by law enforcement on removing illegal firearms from the community, particularly when they are in the hands of individuals involved in drug trafficking,” Gallagher said.
The Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, the Pennsylvania State Police Vice Unit, and the Old Forge Police Department, conducted the investigation which led the arrest.
Miller remains in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on May 7 before District Judge Christopher J. Szewczyk.
