CATASAUQUA, Pa. – A District 11 Class 3A girls volleyball semifinal doubleheader on Monday at Catasauqua High School.

First up is No. 3 seed Bethlehem Catholic taking on No. 7 Northwestern and the Golden Hawks rule the first set. Joceyln Bell sees a weakness in the Tigers defense and she spikes it down for the point en route to a 27-17 win.

Becahi starts to pull away again in the second as Piper Ruggiero sets it for Anna Schwartz who knocks it down and the Golden Hawks are one set away from the final following a 25-15 win.

Northwestern trying to force a fourth set and keeping it close but Ruggiero spots Bell on the left side to complete the sweep, 25-20.

Top-seeded Southern Lehigh has not been tested very much this season inside the district but facing No. 4 Central Catholic for the first time this fall.

The Vikings hanging around in the first set but Eliana Marques with some inspired play for the Spartans and they take the opener, 25-20. Marques would finish with 29 assists, three kills, two aces and 17 digs.

Southern Lehigh would display their dominance over the final two sets winning 25-12 and 25-14.

The 300th career win for coach Don West Jr. and the Spartans will meet Bethlehem Catholic on Thursday for District 11 gold.
