BETHLEHEM – The Board of Finance met last Monday evening to hear reports from the Treasurer and First Selectman, as well as to conduct a few items of business.

Treasurer Theresa Radauskas reported tax collections are on track, and revenues collected by the Park and Recreation Department has increased.

First Selectman Raymond Butkus provided an update on the Munger Lane culvert project and current budget discussions. He said the Munger Lane culvert project has been completed about three weeks ahead of schedule, with just a little cosmetic work remaining. The road is now open, and the detour signs have been taken down. The state’s reimbursement for half of the project cost has already been received.

The town committee overseeing the Bethlehem 250 Celebration has raised around $17,000.

Mr. Butkus said he has followed up with the Deputy at the State Office of Policy and Management regarding a letter the town received last month about losing grant money if the town exceeds a 2.64% increase in the budget. He said it was explained to him that this penalty applies only to the Municipal Grant-in-Aid account, which is $7,945.

The board approved funding for the interlocal agreement between Harwinton and Bethlehem at a cost of $14,040. This amount was to credited for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
