ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Join 69 News at Dorney Park for the 10th annual Food Truck Food Drive as we team up with Dorney Park and Giant.
Food collected will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank.
We’re asking for donations of non-perishable proteins and non-expired products packaged in boxes, cans, and plastic.
We’ll also be collecting child-friendly foods and personal care items.
Food trucks at the event will donate a portion of their sales to the food bank.
Cactus Blue has been a part of the Food Truck Food Drive for several years now.
“There are so many times throughout our life when we need support and so we are thrilled to be a part of a day that gives support to really all of our neighbors who might need it right now,” says Co-Owner Elizabeth Ortiz.
After dropping off donations swing by multiple food trucks featuring food of all kinds.
“Absolutely fish tacos will be on the truck this weekend and our wonderful walking tacos,” says Ortiz.
Harry Parashos will be serving up Greek food of all kinds at his truck Greek Street.
“My most favorite one is to have a vegan gyro with the marinated chickpea and the balsamic glaze. I think it’s the most healthy item that I have on my menu,” he says.
This will be his first Food Truck Food Drive in a community he’s been a part of for 40 plus years.
“It’s very important to me that the community has given so much to me over the 45 years that I’ve been here in the Lehigh Valley and gave me a lot and I always like to give something back to the community,” Parashos says.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday.
