AND I KIND OF PUT THE PHONE DOWN AND I SAID, DAMIEN, DO YOU LIKE THE BUFFALO BILLS? AND HE SAID, YEAH, HE STARTS NAMING THE PLAYERS AND EVERYTHING. AND SO I SAID, YEP, I DO DAMIEN RICCI. AND WITH THAT, OUR NAMES WERE SUBMITTED TO THE NFL. AND ALL OF A SUDDEN WE’RE READING THE DRAFT PICK. AND NOW HERE THEY COME HEADED TO THE STAGE. A teacher and her student from a Pittsburgh school will announce the Buffalo Bills’ fifth-round draft pick on Saturday. Brashear High School teacher Megan Perfetti and her student Damon Richie have been invited to announce the Buffalo Bills’ fifth-round draft pick on Saturday. “Well, I was sitting at my desk and an email came through, and it was from my supervisor, and she asked if anybody liked the Buffalo Bills, and I said, heck yeah, I like the Buffalo Bills,” Perfetti said. “So with that email started, and then she said, ‘do you have a student that is equally excited about the Buffalo Bills?’ And I kind of put the phone down and I said, ‘Damon, do you like the Buffalo Bills?’ And he said, yeah, he starts naming the players and everything. And so I said, yep, I do, Damon Richie. And with that, our names were submitted to the NFL, and all of a sudden we’re reading the draft pick.” “I was shocked, and I was just happy because I like this. My teacher — such a great teacher, and she just gave me this opportunity. An opportunity, a lifetime. We live once,” Richie said.
