AND I SAID, HECK YEAH, I LIKE THE BUFFALO BILLS. SO WITH THAT EMAIL STARTED AND THEN SHE SAID, DO YOU HAVE A STUDENT THAT’S EQUALLY EXCITED ABOUT THE BUFFALO BILLS? AND I KIND OF PUT THE PHONE DOWN AND I SAID, DAMIEN, DO YOU LIKE THE BUFFALO BILLS? AND HE SAID, YEAH, HE STARTS NAMING THE PLAYERS AND EVERYTHING. AND SO I SAID, YEP, I DO DAMIEN RICCI. AND WITH THAT, OUR NAMES WERE SUBMITTED TO THE NFL. AND ALL OF A SUDDEN WE’RE READING THE DRAFT PICK. AND NOW HERE THEY COME HEADED TO THE STAGE. THEY WILL BE THE FIRST TO ANNOUNCE ONE OF THE NEWEST BILLS TO THAT ENTIRE FAN BASE. HERE NOW IS DAMIEN ON THIS BIG MOMENT AHEAD. A teacher and her student from a Pittsburgh school will announce the Buffalo Bills’ fifth-round draft pick on Saturday. Brashear High School teacher Megan Perfetti and her student Damon Richie have been invited to announce the Buffalo Bills’ fifth-round draft pick on Saturday. “Well, I was sitting at my desk and an email came through, and it was from my supervisor, and she asked if anybody liked the Buffalo Bills, and I said, heck yeah, I like the Buffalo Bills,” Perfetti said. “So with that email started, and then she said, ‘do you have a student that is equally excited about the Buffalo Bills?’ And I kind of put the phone down and I said, ‘Damon, do you like the Buffalo Bills?’ And he said, yeah, he starts naming the players and everything. And so I said, yep, I do, Damon Richie. And with that, our names were submitted to the NFL, and all of a sudden we’re reading the draft pick.” “I was shocked, and I was just happy because I like this. My teacher — such a great teacher, and she just gave me this opportunity. An opportunity, a lifetime. We live once,” Richie said.
