Local businesses in our area are beginning to feel the strain of ongoing political and economic tensions, both domestically and abroad.
Maurice McClure, owner of McClure’s Fish House & More in Meadville, wrote on Facebook how frustrated he is with political issues beyond his control that are now affecting prices relating to the business.
“Just a bit ago before all these tariffs and now war. I was paying $50 for a case of Haddock. Now today it’s $97… so i have to raise prices some in the coming weeks or just walk away with my head high and never look back,” McClure wrote.
McClure told Erie News Now that he is not going anywhere and remains committed to serving the community.
Many community members responded to McClure’s post in support of Maurice and the business, regardless of prices.
