READING, Pa. – Habitat for Humanity is celebrating the start of its newest project.

The organization held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new home on West Buttonwood Street today.

This project is a partnership with the Olivet Boys and Girls Club, who recommended one of its employees for Habitat’s First-Time Homebuyer Program.

Habitat says employers are struggling to keep and recruit employees because of the price of housing.

The group says this is a great example of the two organizations working together.

“What makes this an extraordinary event, it’s a tremendous example of how an employer and an employee can work together for the mutual benefit of both,” said Tim Daley, executive director of Habitat Berks.

Olivet says it’s in the business of making leaders and believes its employee will go far.
