A fight among a group of people at a Broad Street gas station April 22 led to gunfire that damaged a vehicle but did not injure anyone, according to city police.

Detectives are now working to identify the people involved in the fight.

The shooting was reported April 22 at about 3:15 p.m. at the 17Express, in the 2000 block of Broad Street at Buffalo Road. Multiple people were involved in some sort of altercation, with the fight spilling into and out of the store, Erie police Deputy Chief Ken Kensill said April 23.

At some point, according to Kensill, a gun was pulled and gunshots were fired, with at least one shot hitting a fleeing car.

Officers who responded to the shooting recovered shell casings at the scene.
