Jack Czaja and Christian Ellis combined on a four-hit shutout Thursday as Mid Valley blanked host Old Forge, 10-0, in a Lackawanna League Division II baseball game at Pagnotti Park.
Czaja allowed four hits, walked two and struck out six in four innings. Ellis worked three perfect innings of relief with three strikeouts.
Ellis also had two hits, including a triple, and three RBIs. Nick Hricenak also drove in three runs for the Spartans (9-3, 7-1). Jeremy Cali, Brett Yanoski and Joey Romanosky added two hits apiece.
Elio Castaldi, Luke Olivieri, Colin Mulkerin and Joey Revello had singles for Old Forge (4-7, 1-7).
Lakeland 9, Holy Cross 1: At Lakeland, David Naniewicz and Jackson Pochas each went 2 for 3 with one RBI and two runs to lead the Chiefs to a Division II win.
Dylan Loomis had two hits, an RBI and a run, and Kody Miller had a hit and two RBIs for Lakeland (8-3, 5-3).
Charlie Marx had a hit and an RBI, and Jacob Shedlauskas had a hit and a run for the Crusaders (0-12, 0-8).
Scranton Prep 12, Delaware Valley 8: At Delaware Valley, Zach Charneski went 3 for 4 with a double, four RBIs and one run to lead the Cavaliers to a Division I win.
Johnny Petrosky had two hits, including a double, one RBI and two runs, A.J. Croom had two hits, one RBI and two runs, Joey Connolly had a double and an RBI and Eli Zapotoski had a hit, an RBI and a run for Scranton Prep (5-7, 5-3).
Timothy Jason had three hits, an RBI and a run, and Kyler Winslow had a triple, a double, two RBIs and two runs for the Warriors (2-9, 2-6).
Wallenpaupack 6, West Scranton 4: At West Scranton, Cade Pittenger went 3 for 4 with a double, two RBIs and a run to lead the Buckhorns to a Division I win.
Cam DeFeo had a two-run homer in the fourth, Cameron Lynch had a hit, a run and an RBI and Greg Van Gorder had a hit and an RBI for Wallenpaupack (10-3, 6-2).
Mason Lesh had two hits, including a double, and an RBI, Julian Poniatowski had two hits and two runs and Tyler Scotch and Thomas Selemba each had two hits for the Invaders (3-9, 3-4).
Mountain View 15, Susquehanna 0 (4 inn.): At Susquehanna, Jordan Jagger had a home run, a double, three RBIs and two runs to lead the Eagles to a Division III victory in four innings.
Corey Trichilo had two doubles and four RBIs, Nick Beach had two hits and three RBIs and Josh Miller had two hits and two runs for Mountain View (5-6, 5-2).
Jax Thomas and Alex Krayeski each had a hit for the Sabers (4-5, 3-4).
Elk Lake 14, Blue Ridge 4 (6 inn.): At Elk Lake, Alden Felker went 3 for 3 with two doubles, a triple and five RBIs, as the Warriors beat Blue Ridge in six innings in Lackawanna Division III.
Cohen Orlandini added two hits and two RBIs and Connor Stephens had two hits and one RBI for Elk Lake (9-4, 6-1). Winning pitcher Brayden Miller allowed four unearned runs and five hits in six innings with one walk and seven strikeouts.
Brendan Marvin had two hits, including a grand slam, for Blue Ridge (2-8, 2-6). Travis Rutter doubled for the Raiders.
Lackawanna Trail 12, Carbondale Area 2 (6 inn.): At Carbondale Area, winning pitcher William Evans scattered five hits and struck out 10 in six innings for Lackawanna Trail in its Lackawanna Division III win.
Evans also had two hits, including a double. Carter Edwards and Cooper Patterson also had two hits each for the Lions (6-3, 6-2). Patterson and Ashton Thiel both had two RBIs.
Xander Mackey doubled for the Chargers (1-9, 1-4).
Montrose 10, Forest City 8: At Montrose, Adam Sorensen had three hits, including a triple, and one RBI, as the Meteors held off Forest City for a Lackawanna Division III win.
Sawyer Aukema and Chase Harman each had two hits and two RBIs for Montrose (8-2, 6-2).
Peyton Reynolds led the Foresters (0-8, 0-8) with two hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Caleb Mauro also doubled among his two hits and drove in one run for Forest City, which rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh.
