Blue Mountain’s Evan Burcik was knocked out in the District 11 Class AA Singles Finals at Bethlehem Freedom High School on Thursday afternoon.

Burcik defeated Allentown Central Catholic’s Tommy Spinosa, 6-4, 6-2, before falling to Moravian Academy’s Aveer Chada in the final, 6-3, 6-1.

Burcik is the first Blue Mountain boys tennis player to reach the finals of the singles or doubles tournament in 10 years.

Burcik and teammate Evan Bixler will compete in the District 11 Doubles Tournament on Tuesday and are seeded at No. 2. Eagles Elias Eichert and Camren Watters are seeded No. 9 in the doubles tournament.
