Tom Hagen who had served as Chairman of the Board for over 20 years is now transitioning to the role of Chairman Emeritus with Erie Insurance. He will continue to serve as Chair of the Executive Committee for the Board.
The Board has unanimously elected Jonathan Hirt Hagen as the newly appointed Chairman. Jonathan is the son of Tom Hagen and the late Susan Hirt Hagen, and as the grandson of the co-founder H.O. Hirt, the company believes this transition directly reflects a deep connection to the company’s history. Jonathan has been serving on the Board since 2005 and has served as the Vice Chairman since 2013.
