ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Friday is Arbor Day, and Allentown is leaning into it with a call for residents to roll up their sleeves.
Earlier on Friday, city leaders joined the Allentown Garden Club in planting a tree at Fountain Park.
But Saturday is the main event.
The Old Allentown Preservation Association, together with Union and West End Cemetery, will hold a Tree Planting Day.
They want to get 44 new trees in the ground.
If you’d like to help, the event begins Saturday at 9:00 AM at 10th and Chew Streets.
