A new, free celebration of country music is coming this summer to the Lehigh Valley.

CountryFest will be held Aug. 21-22 at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, ArtsQuest announced Wednesday in a news release.

The two-day festival will bring “the heart and soul of country music” to the region with live performances and food, ArtsQuest said.

The new festival will feature nationally touring country artists, rising stars and local performers. Clayton Mullen, Luke Borchelt and Peytan Porter will perform, and there will also be tribute bands performing the music of country music stars Kenny Chesney and Lainey Wilson.

“ArtsQuest’s latest festival celebration, CountryFest, arrives not a day too soon for a genre that has been a mainstay for Lehigh Valley audiences for decades now,” Patrick Brogan, ArtsQuest’s chief programming officer, said in a news release. “The team here has put together a mix of emerging national country headliners of tomorrow alongside some truly talented acts … We can’t wait to see where audiences take this festival in the years to come.”

Food vendors include Red Cedar Grill, Bacon on a Stick and Batch Microcreamey, according to ArtsQuest. Local artisans will also be there selling country-inspired handmade goods.
