A report of a student carrying a suspected firearm inside a Bucks County school prompted a swift response from staff and police, authorities announced.
Administrative personnel at Shafer Middle School in Bensalem were alerted on Friday, April 24, after a student reported seeing a male classmate with what appeared to be a gun in his waistband, according to Bensalem Police.
The student said the suspected weapon was visible when the classmate lifted his shirt, police detailed.
A School Resource Officer and additional officers responded immediately as a school administrator located the student and safely removed the weapon, which was later identified as a BB gun, authorities said.
