READING, Pa.- A hometown star on the biggest stage. Fans coming into FirstEnergy Stadium, where it’s all about Nick Singleton.
The Shillington native and Penn State standout is now waiting to hear his name called in the NFL Draft. And in Reading, they’re celebrating in a big way.
“We have a Nick Singleton hometown hero bobblehead giveaway for the first 2,000 kids through the gates tonight, a bit of a draft celebration, celebrating Singleton who is a hometown kid,” said Jake Starr, R-Phils director of media relations.
A bobblehead giveaway, an NFL Draft watch party, and a chance for fans to be part of the moment. Nick’s connection to this stadium goes back years.
“He actually played on the field here in a high school football game, and then we had him back a couple of times, so we have a really good relationship with him,” Starr said.
From Governor Mifflin to Penn State, where he became one of the program’s top running backs, now on the verge of the NFL.
“Whenever Nick does get picked, if it does happen to be tonight during the game, between innings we’re pretty much going to stop whatever normal in-between inning promotion we would have done and do a celebration,” Starr added.
