BERKS COUNTY, Pa. – Colleges in Berks County held events Wednesday to mark Earth Day.
At Penn State Berks in Spring Township, the celebration moved inside because of the rain.
Community organizations and student groups set up tables with information about things like sustainable self-care swaps to help reduce the amount of trash going to landfills.
At Alvernia University in Reading, moss art kits and grow-your-own-herb kits were available for Earth Day. Students picked up the kits on campus Wednesday afternoon.
The school also hosts a day of service in honor of Earth Day. That took place over the weekend with the goal of supporting local parks, trails and neighborhoods.
