On Saturday in Scranton, dozens wore purple ponchos and walked and jogged at Nay Aug Park for the annual ‘Pancan Purple Stride Walk’ to raise money for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
Those in the crowd who have somehow been touched by pancreatic cancer wore badges and t-shirts with team insignias. Like Joanne Connor of Taylor, who is currently fighting the rare condition.
“It’s strengthening but overwhelming. It’s mostly family, friends and I guess I’m surrounded by love,” said Connor.
