(WHTM)– A Pennsylvania lawmaker is proposing establishing a drink spiking response and intervention task force.

The legislation, circulated by State Rep. Daniel Deasy (D-27), aims to combat drink spiking by establishing a task force.

According to the memo, the task force would review and assess the safety and health shortfalls related to drink spiking, provide legislative recommendations and intervention techniques, and train employees who serve drinks.

The task force would report to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board’s Bureau of Alcohol Education, which will, in turn, create a training program to accompany the Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP) that licensee managers will be required to complete, per the memo.

State Rep. Deasy said that 56% of women and 44% of men say they have had their drinks spiked at least once.

The legislation has not yet been submitted for introduction.
