OBITUARY
John Alton Hicks, 65, passed away on March 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable stories. Born on August 29, 1960, in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, he was the son of James and Beverley Hicks.
John graduated from Carbondale Area High School in 1978.
John was a proud father and grandfather, a loyal friend, and a man who lived life to the fullest.
John is survived by his longtime partner, Patty Jajaich; his three children, Kasey Hicks-Stine (and spouse Michelle Hicks-Stine), Jonathan Ryan Hicks, and Kelsey McWilliams (and spouse CJ McWilliams). He was a proud and loving grandfather to DJ, Kenley, and Rory McWilliams, and Kylin Hicks-Stine. He is also survived by his four siblings, Deborah Hicks Carey, James Hicks Jr., Alice Hicks Manley, Judith Hicks Deck, many cousins, nieces and nephews, who will forever hold close the many memories they shared with him.
The family asks that John be remembered not with sorrow, but with laughter while wearing your favorite Eagles or Phillies gear. A celebration of life will be held in Harrisburg, no formal funeral service will be held.
