Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who fired a gun during an incident last week in Northampton County.
The man fired a gun in the air after a vehicle stopped in front of him Friday night in Allen Township, state police said in a news release.
A 33-year-old Allentown man was driving westbound on Nor Bath Boulevard and stopped at the intersection with Savage Drive to avoid hitting a man who was illegally crossing the street there, police said.
As the vehicle was stopped, the man walked toward the back of the vehicle and fired two shots from a handgun directly into the air, police said. He then ran away. No one was injured and there was no damage to the vehicle. Investigators found a discharged 9 mm casing at the scene.
The incident happened about 9:15 p.m.
Police said the man who fired the gun had blonde hair and is between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 and about 170 pounds. He was wearing a dark hoodie, jeans and a black hat. Police said the man was between 28 and 35.
