A vehicle crashed into an assisted living facility Sunday afternoon in Hellertown, forcing some people inside to be evacuated while crews checked for a gas leak.

No one was hurt.

The accident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. at Saucon Valley Manor on Main Street. The driver of a car left the road for an unknown reason and hit a brick wall near some air conditioning units, dispatchers said. The impact caused the wall to cave in slightly but it did not collapse.

Crews were still checking to make sure the building was safe an hour later. Staff at the facility declined to comment on the incident.
