Staff at the Ale Mary’s bar in Scranton tell Newswatch 16 that it will close after the end of business day on Sunday.
SCRANTON, Pa. — Sunday was the final call for a popular bar in Lackawanna County.
Staff at Ale Mary’s at the Bittenbender in downtown Scranton tell Newswatch16 that the bar restaurant will be closing its door for good.
A staple stop along Franklin Avenue, Ale Mary’s has been known for its vast drink selection since opening in 2014, a few years after Whistles Pub and Restaurant closed in 2011.
In 2025, Ale Mary’s was sold and officially reopened under Settlers Hospitality Management Group.
Newswatch 16 has reached out to a representative of Settlers Hospitality, but did not receive a response.
