Community members came out to make the finishing touches on the new hillside park playground in South Abington Township.
LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — On Sunday, some finishing touches were made to the brand-new hillside park playground along Winola Road in South Abington Township, near Clarks Summit.
Community members came out this morning for an Earth Day-themed clean-up and to complete landscaping around the new area.
“And we saw the old playground, which was missing pieces. It was rotted down at the bottom and thought maybe it would be dangerous… and I got some uh some quotes on it, and we put up this thing which is a beautiful playground, and it’s gonna last well after I’m gone,” said Joe Skinner from the Abington Lions Club.
The brand new $40,000 playground was donated by the Lions Club in Lackawanna County.
