AI is being used more and more, but what is its role in education? When can it be helpful, and when do parents and students need to be careful?
We have the answers Tuesday morning, with the help of Adrianne Finley Odell, Head of School at Moravian Academy.
She discussed how artificial intelligence is starting to show up in K–12 education, and what the potential benefits are for students and teachers.
“AI is everywhere,” she said.
The academy’s seniors this year are the first that had access to AI since their freshman year.
Teachers are working hard on how AI can improve their teaching, and how to make AI engaging to students. She said it is important to set boundaries, so students use AI responsibly.
Odell talked about concern from parents about AI replacing critical thinking or creativity.Â
