The Erie County Courthouse will be glowing with red lights in observance of the “Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters” campaign. This campaign runs April 26 until May 3 to honor fallen firefighters and show support for their families.
The campaign that is recognized nationwide began in 2017 and is coordinated each year by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Through this campaign the public is asked to light homes, businesses, fire stations, and public buildings with red lights to show their support.
From May 1 until May 3, firefighters who have died in the line of duty are honored and their families recognized and is known as National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.
