A West Pittston man was arraigned Monday on charges alleging he sexually molested a teenage girl.
Lester Lewis Cobb, 45, of 23 Delaware Ave., is accused of groping the girl at a home on Montgomery Avenue in West Pittston in February 2022.
The complaint alleges the abuse began with Cobb massaging the girl’s shoulders when she was about 13 or 14. During one incident, Cobb got into the bed with the girl and began groping her breasts and buttocks, police allege.
Afterward, the girl reported that things got “weird” and that Cobb started offering her alcohol and marijuana, according to the complaint.
When questioned about the bedroom incident, Cobb told authorities he did not remember anything due to excessive alcohol consumption, the complaint alleges.
Police charged Cobb with corruption of a minor, indecent assault and harassment.
Magisterial District Judge Matthew J. Carmody arraigned Cobb on the charges Monday morning and released him on $50,000 unsecured bail.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for May 12.
