Archbald residents voice concerns about Essential Energy’s proposed power plant, fearing it will supply several proposed data centers rather than the community.

ARCHBALD, Pa. — Archbald Borough Council hosted its first conditional use hearing on Essential Energy’s proposed power plant on Monday night at Valley View High School.

The project is expected to take place on land along Main Street, currently used by the Business Highway Auto.

About 200 people showed up to the meeting, some expressing concerns that the power plant is only meant to supply energy to multiple data centers that are proposed in and around the borough.
