Lackawanna College softball likes to have fun on and off the field.

Bob Ide says ,What do you got there four? How do you get to five ?

Lackawanna softball players, “ We’re going for five for a rainbow six. We’re going for six total. I think I got it.

You got to keep your head still, Mia. Yep.

That silliness has helped the Lackawanna college softball team is prepare to move the to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference next season.

The Falcons are sending their new league a message by ending their regular season in NJCAA Region 19 with the most wins in program history.

Lackawanna has won 8 straight and head to the playoffs with 40 wins.

That camaraderie. You guys really like each other ?

Mia Scalese says, Lackawanna Sophomore(Holy Cross), “ yeah, yeah, we feel a lot of fun here.

Bob ide asks, I could tell. And how does that translate to wins?

Scalese answers, Just like getting along and everybody picking each other up. Say somebody makes an error, make a mistake, they come back in the dugout, we’re all picking each other up. And it’s just a great community here. “

Riley Knott, Lackawanna First Year(Abington Heights) added, “ From the start I got here, I thought the team was great. From practice day one to now. Our team is so great, and I think we’re pretty solid up and down.”

It starts with pitching for Lackawanna where the staff has a 2.66 ERA and 346 strikeouts.

Scalese says, “ Right, We have about six pitchers on the staff that are very solid, so that helps a lot, especially in games we’re playing back to back to back. Definitely, Ayahna Fleisher, she came in this year’s he’s a great addition. McKenzie Rivere, she’s a great addition to us. I think she had a bunch of strikeouts this year already. Same with Arianna and they’re just really competitive. We’re all really competitive. We all want to win.

Abigail Yenalevitch, Lackawanna Sophomore(Wyoming Valley West) added, “ I think that we all just have, like, we’re really good with, like, making our pitches and everything and our, like pitch calls and everything like that is pretty well.

The batting order features speed, power and contact hitters who put the ball in play.

Jeff Pittsman, Lackawanna coach says, “ Little mix and everything. I mean, we have some speed at the top of the lineup, with Ayahna, power of MacKenzie Adolfson, Riley Knott she has been outstanding. She transferred from Marywood. She’s been a big help to us. We hit home runs, we get on base a lot and the drive runs in. “

Haleigh Mazol, Lackawanna R-First Year, (Stroudsburg) added, “ We definitely do have a lot more home runs this year as a team. I feel like throughout the whole lineup we have some consistent hitters and that definitely helps to string along some hits, especially at the bottom of the lineup. They pass the bat to the top of the order, so we’re able to get a couple runs off that too.

With a program record for wins in the books, Lackawanna College can now turn to the region 19 playoffs, where they will be the number three seed. The goal for the Falcons get to the championship game and advance to districts.

Pittsman says, “I think all four teams in the playoffs are basically equal.

Yenalevitch added , “Yeah, I feel like if we’re on like on that day we’re definitely to do it. I know we all can do it. We have great hitting and everything like that. We just have to get there and do it. And I think we should and will “
