Skyline Soiree at Assembly Rooftop Lounge
This sky-high locale offers some prime views of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, along with firepits for nighttime seating and a seasonal menu. Highlights include the Rose Gold Margarita, margherita flatbread, mushroom toast and dark chocolate fondue, along with other sips and bites. A fun way to check out everything Assembly has to offer is through its annual Skyline Soirée, set for Friday, May 1, from 6 to 9 p.m.
The event will feature a premium open bar with new cocktails like the Garden Party, Thyme After Thyme, and Peach Orchard Sour, alongside treats like lobster rolls, salmon cakes, and caviar, plus interactive stations and desserts. The evening will also feature live entertainment (including an electric violinist) plus, extras like a 360-degree photo booth, floral installations, Patrón snow cones and take-home swag. ‘Wild Horizon’ Circus Festival
Centered on the universal human instinct to play, this new free festival at Cherry Street Pier invites Philadelphia families and audiences of all ages to experience contemporary circus, dance, and clowning with the backdrop of the Delaware River Waterfront. The event is coming to life on May 2 and 3 after a year of community conversations, artist collaborations, and shared visioning.
Highlights include immersive works for young children by Ninth Planet and Australian artist Stephen Noonan (The PaperBoats), plus all-ages performances from Well-Balanced Dads, Hooligans & Co, and Chicago’s Full Out Formula. The program will also feature dance by Philadelphia artists Esther Baker and Tammy Carrasco, site-specific juggling installations by David Chervony and Stephen Doutt, and new creations developed by Wild Seeds resident artists.
Throughout the weekend, Rebel Arts Movement will additionally host hands-on circus activities, inviting young people of all skill levels to participate, play, and discover new forms of expression.

Chestnut Hill Home and Garden Festival
It’s that time of year again—The Chestnut Hill Home and Garden Festival will be in full swing this weekend on Sunday, May 3. With it, more than 250 vendors—including local businesses, artists, and crafters—will line the cobblestone streets of Germantown Avenue, turning the area into a lively open-air marketplace. The event will also feature plenty of food vendors, outdoor crafts, live music, children’s activities, and over 200 retailers, restaurants, and businesses within the District joining in on the fun.
A focal point of the festival every year is the Maker’s Village, which will feature different artisan demonstrations (including pottery, macrame, bulb layering, and even an observation hive with hive tools). Festivalgoers can additionally explore the neighborhood’s rich mix of home and garden destinations, from long-standing family businesses like Robertson’s Flowers (since 1927) and Kilian Hardware (since 1913) to contemporary favorites like EMBER, HOST Interiors, Ennulat Art & Design, and Gravers Lane Gallery.
The event will also include a used book sale at Tavern on the Hill, and an outdoor cookout at McNally’s Tavern with sandwiches (including the Schmitter), beer and spring-inspired slushies.
Philly Theatre Week
2026’s Philly Theatre Week is still going strong, with productions sprinkled throughout the area until May 3, highlighting the vibrancy and diversity of the Greater Philadelphia theatre community. All Theatre Week events will once again offer pay-what-you-can (PWYC) ticketing to make regional theatre more accessible. This flexible pricing model allows audiences to choose what they’re able to pay, and every PWYC ticket purchased directly supports the participating theatre companies and artists.
A note: Philly Theatre Week tickets are limited and offered separately from standard box office sales. If PWYC tickets for a particular event sell out, additional tickets may still be available through the producing theatre’s official website. Audiences can look forward to a wide range of offerings this year, including full-scale productions, workshops, and interactive experiences with a line-up spanning everything from classic opera and world premiere plays to circus arts, family-friendly musicals, and improv.
Miami Grand Prix Watch Party at F1 Arcade Philadelphia
The F1 Arcade is celebrating the Miami Grand Prix this Sunday with a watch party. Doors open at 3 p.m. (the race begins at 4 p.m.), and while watching, guests can also jump into the action themselves through F1’s racing simulators. A live DJ and food/drink options will also be available.
Visitors can opt for general admission or upgrade to the Grandstand package for reserved seating, unlimited small bites, and drink tokens. Tickets (starting around $50) are available online, and note that the event is strictly 21+.
