SCRANTON, LACKWANNA CO. (WOLF) — A Scranton man is facing multiple charges in two separate cases and remains behind bars after failing to post bail, according to court records.
Brandon Deangel Gadsden, 26, was arrested twice in late April in unrelated incidents. In the first case, filed April 27, Gadsden is charged with aggravated assault, along with additional counts of simple assault, harassment, and illegally carrying a firearm.
According to reporting by The Times-Tribune, Gadsden allegedly struck his ex-partner in the head with a hammer during the Monday assault, sending her to the hospital where she required stitches, a criminal complaint states.
Court documents show bail was set at $10,000 in that case, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 11.
Two days later, Gadsden was arrested again and charged in a separate incident involving felony criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and loitering and prowling at night. Bail in that case was set at $25,000, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 12.
Authorities say Gadsden is currently being held in the Lackawanna County Prison after failing to post bail in both cases.
Both cases remain active as they move through the court system.
