READING, Pa. – Berks County is launching a backpack lending program for anyone looking to hit the trails.
There are four types of backpacks trail users can borrow.
Some have birding supplies, information about insects, art supplies, and information about the history of the bridges along the trail.
The backpacks are geared toward children in kindergarten through fifth grade.
They are free to borrow and use in county parks.
You can reach out to the Berks County Parks and Recreation Department to reserve a backpack.
