Halloween events are in full swing this week. With the upcoming events local police are encouraging all participating to prepare for a safe night. According to Deputy Chief Rick Lorah, there will be an increased police presence throughout the city, with additional officers patrolling the streets to ensure everyone’s safety.
He encourages trick-or-treaters to wear reflective clothing, and for drivers to be extra alert. Lorah also expects it to be busy in downtown Erie, with many people visiting the bars. Encouraging that if celebrating he urges attendees to find a designated driver.
Events start with Warren Area Student Union is hosting a Haunted House on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. that is sensory friendly with no scares with admission at $3 per person.
On Oct. 29 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. the Autism Society NWPA Family Center located at 3308 State St. in Erie will have Trunk-or-Treat. It is free to host a vehicle and $100 to sponsor a vehicle.
Trunk or Treat on Oct. 30 will take place at Barb’s Childcare Center where multiple businesses will be participating. There will ambulance and the Erie Insurance fire truck included in the event at 1926 Peach St. from 3 to 5 p.m.
Splash Lagoon will have Trunk or Treat from 4 to 6 p.m. also on Oct. 30. Trunk Or Treat at LECOM Parkside at Glenwood. LECOM is accepting trunk registrations for the event at 41 West Gore Rd., Erie from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Trick-or-treating on Oct. 30 will commence in Spring Twp. from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Warren Area Student Union is having a Haunted House on Oct. 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. with admission at $6 to a person.
Halloween night multiple towns are having Trick-or-Treating from 6 to 8 p.m. Including Albion, Conneaut Twp., Concord Twp., Corry, Cranesville, Edinboro, Erie, Fairview, Girard Borough, Girard Twp., Harborcreek, Lake City, LeBoeuf Twp., McKean Borough, McKean Twp., Mill Village, Millcreek, Platea, Springfield, Summit Twp., Union City, Union Twp., Washington Twp., Waterford, Wattsburg, Wesleyville, and Warren First Church of the Nazarene.
