CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Cincinnati police are investigating a fatal crash that happened in Hyde Park Friday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Erie Avenue and Pinehurst Avenue just before 10 a.m.
According to the Cincinnati Police Department, a 26-year-old driving a Vespa scooter was going eastbound on Erie Avenue when the 80-year-old driver of a red Corvette, travelling west, tried to make a left turn in front of the scooter.
The driver of the scooter was ejected, hit the Corvette and died of his injuries.

Police said that the scooter driver was wearing a helmet and the driver of the Corvette was wearing a seatbelt.
Speed and impairment are not believed to be contributing factors to the crash, police said.
