Milton Rotich is back in Pittsburgh after finishing second in the 2025 Pittsburgh Marathon. The elite athlete from Kenya boasts a personal best time of 2:08:55. Jared Ward is a decorated American distance runner and Olympian who is returning for this year’s marathon. The 37-year-old placed sixth in marathon during the 2016 Summer Olympics and has a personal bet record of 2:09:25. Ward finished third in the Pittsburgh Half Marathon in 2022.She’s back again and she’s eyeing a historic third consecutive title in Pittsburgh. Jane Bareikis is a force to be reckoned with and is no stranger to Pittsburgh’s course. She has taken back-to-back marathon wins, finishing 2:36:00 last year and 2:37:37 in 2024.Bareikis told us she felt amazing after her win in 2025, though at one point she was comfortable being in third place: “But then I was like, that’s embarrassing. I can’t take third. I think I’ll feel bad. You just can’t quit. Fight, fight, fight. She finished 2:46:12 at the Two Rivers Marathon in 2024. The prize for first place marathon winners is $7,000.From there, the money drops to $4,000 for second place, $2,000 for third place, $1,000 for fourth place and $500 for fifth place.
