YMCA of Greater Erie receives nearly $500K in state grant funding

Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis visited a local YMCA on Friday to celebrate investing in our youth.

The Teen Center at the YMCA of Greater Erie was one of 177 projects receiving a grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, a commission Davis is chairman of.

The statewide grants total $65 million, with the Greater Erie YMCA receiving over $493,000.

“Today recognizes what we are all fighting for when we go to Harrisburg and we’re at the budget table. to create more opportunities for the next generation of leaders that are ultimately going to be leading our commonwealth and our cities. I think there’s no greater investment that we can be making than making an investment in them,” said Davis.

Davis also visited Farrell Area School District in Mercer County, who recieved a grant as well.
