A man has been convicted of second degree murder following the shooting death of a 44-year-old from East Hills. According to a criminal complaint, first responders were called to the scene in the 2300 block of East Hills Drive on Feb. 18 after a man called 911 stating he was shot and robbed.When officials arrived on the scene, they said Rozier was found with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.Officials on the scene, according to the complaint, recovered multiple shell casings from at least two different firearms.Surveillance video, later obtained by police, showed two individuals arriving at the victim’s apartment, where the incident occurred.The driver and passenger of a dark Ford Explorer exited the vehicle and entered the area of the victim’s apartment. The driver and additional individuals later entered Rozier’s apartment just before 3:30 a.m.Hours later, the complaint stated, the two individuals were seen leaving the scene at the time Rozier placed the 911 call.The complaint said officials were able to identify the Ford Explorer, which was registered to Thompson.Thompson’s phone was later found to have hit a cellphone tower near Rozier’s apartment complex on the day he was fatally shot.Officials said Thompson conspired with an unidentified co-conspirator and left the Pittsburgh area following the shooting. In addition, the complaint said two separate shell casings were located on the scene, and no firearms were recovered, indicative of Thompson having access to two firearms.Thompson was also found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery, and carrying a firearm without a license.
