HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — May is a month when the sacrifices of law enforcement are traditionally remembered, and a ceremony took place on Monday at the Pennsylvania State Police headquarters in Harrisburg.
The State Police honor roll added a new name on Monday, marking the 105th member killed in the line of duty in PSP’s 120-year history.

Corporal Timothy O’Connor was killed in March in Chester County during a traffic stop. He was 40-years-old and left behind a wife and young daughter.
“I must say Tim was the absolute best of us. He embodied this department’s legacy of service,” Gov. Josh Shapiro said at the service.

Fallen Pennsylvania trooper’s daughter gets bear made from old uniform
State Police nearly made it three years without a Trooper being killed in the line of duty. The last time was in June 2023 when Trooper Jacques Rougeau Jr. was fatally shot in Mifflintown, Juniata County, when a gunman ambushed him and attacked the state police barracks.
“Fathers, sons, husbands, brothers, uncles are not returning home because of the honorable service they rendered to this department and to the Commonwealth,” said Lt. Col. George Bivens, acting State Police commissioner. “Their sacrifices, each unique and profound, will forever be remembered.”
