S. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. — A yearly Halloween display has turned into a full-blown necropolis for one South Whitehall Township family.

“Halloween is our only big holiday. Christmas, we’re lucky we have two blow-ups out,” said Kelly Hasselman. “We just love doing it for our kids and the neighborhood kids and the big kids at heart.”

The Hasselman family started “Windsor Cemetery” outside of their Windsor Drive home seven years ago. It started with a few decorations, and through the years, more creatures appeared.

Kelly and husband Mike even purchased their own hearse to add to the spook-factor.

Setting up the yearly display is no small feat.

“We start at the beginning of September right after Labor Day and then we continue five minutes after the kids show up and we’re handing out candy and we’re out here tinkering with the lights and the fog machine,” Kelly Hasselman explained.

Real coffins, an embalming table, handmade grave stones, 25-foot skeletons, inflatables, light-up creatures and spooky characters fill the yard.

“We have three attics in our house and we store it in there. The hearse in the yard, our basement, everywhere. We’re going to be needing a shipping container soon,” said Mike Hasselman.
