The Detroit Tigers have fired former Erie SeaWolves manager Gabe Alvarez on Tuesday due to an alleged “violation of club policy,” the team said in a statement.
Alvarez had been the manager of the Tigers’ Triple-A affiliate since 2025. Mike Hessman will serve as the interim manager.
Alvarez managed the Erie SeaWolves from 2022 to 2024, leading the club to three Eastern League championship appearnces, including back-to-back titles.
