More than 500 advocates gathered at the Pennsylvania Capitol on Tuesday afternoon, urging lawmakers to pass stronger tobacco laws. The Tobacco Resistance Unit said it is advocating for stronger tobacco control policies related to secondhand smoke and increased investment in tobacco prevention programs. “Tobacco is the leading cause of preventable death in Pennsylvania, killing more than 20,000 people each year,” the group said.
