Over the weekend, the team spent the day along the Lackawanna River capturing LRCA RiverFest. The annual event is hosted by the Lackawanna River Conservation Association. Paddlers launched from Riverfront Park in Dickson City. They traveled downstream along the Lackawanna River to Sweeney’s Beach in Scranton. The route highlighted a scenic and accessible stretch of the river.
RiverFest offered an ideal way to welcome spring along the Lackawanna River. Mild temperatures and fresh greenery created a peaceful setting. Wildlife activity added movement and sound throughout the day. Kayaks and canoes moved steadily through the water. Participants enjoyed the natural beauty of the Lackawanna River corridor.
After the paddle, RiverFest continued at Parker Street Landing. The community gathered along the Lackawanna River for a relaxed afternoon. Food vendors and live music added to the atmosphere. Educational exhibits highlighted conservation efforts. The event balanced recreation with the importance of protecting the Lackawanna River.
