SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Drivers in Scranton should prepare for a long‑term detour starting on Wednesday.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) officials say the Linden Street Bridge, between 7th Avenue and Mifflin Street, will close on Wednesday for major rehabilitation work.

Man pleads guilty to crime spree through multiple counties

The bridge is expected to stay closed through the end of the year.

Pedestrian access will remain open, but drivers will be detoured using Lackawanna Avenue.
