PENNSYLVANIA (WBNG) — Pennsylvania and ten other states have sued the Trump Administration for its decision to revoke homeland security funding.
In a statement shared to social media, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said that the funding cuts would threaten public safety.
See Shapiro’s full statement below:
I sued the Trump Administration along with ten other states and Washington D.C., for their reckless decision to revoke homeland security funding from our Commonwealth.
These cuts directly threaten public safety and emergency preparedness work here in Pennsylvania, including disaster response, threat detection, and support for first responders who keep us safe — and they’re coming just as we’re preparing for major events in 2026.
Anyone who tries to threaten Pennsylvanians and make our communities less safe will have to go through me — and that includes the President.
Similarly, New York Governor Kathy Hochul called out the Trump administration’s $187 million in cuts to homeland security funding.
The funding was later restored.
