Following the announcement that Provost Dr. Sarah Ewing will be transitioning to provost at Duquesne University; Father Shane Mathew has been appointed as interim provost for the time being.
President Dr. Walter Iwanenko announced the interim provost will take over on July 1 for the coming academic year.
“Father Shane, who has served Gannon in several ways since 2015 and who has been our associate provost for Mission Immersion since 2023, has demonstrated thoughtful leadership, deep institutional knowledge, and a steady, mission-centered approach.” Stated Iwanenko, “He is well prepared to guide us through this period of transition, including the important work of integrating with Ursuline College.”
