Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) in Meadville are continuing work of an investigation into a 19-year-old homicide that remains unsolved.
William Rossey 63 was last seen on Oct. 29 in 2005 in the City of Meadville following a Halloween Parade. At the time of his last known sighting, he was wearing a black ball cap, dark blue jeans, a baseball type jacket, and blue Velcro tennis shoes.
His family reported him missing several days later, and all searches for him following did not provide any new information on his whereabouts.
Rossey was known to visit the Dawg Pound Bar as well as local sub shops. For transportation he would walk, hitch-hike, and would bounce from various locations with friends and acquaintances.
Seven months later, Rossey’s body was found in French Creek just off Shilling Road in Union Township. Following an autopsy, his death was ruled a homicide.
