Route 12 is expected to remain closed between Spring Valley Road and Elizabeth Avenue through the morning rush after a crash took down a utility pole, Berks County emergency officials said.
The crash happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. at Elizabeth Avenue and Pricetown Road, which is Route 12, in Alsace Township. A struck utility pole came down and is blocking the road.
Fire police and state police are on the scene.
