ERIE, Kan. — The City of Erie, Kansas, terminated its city clerk following allegations that she stole city funds.
Authorities announced on Thursday that police arrested the former city clerk, Jessica Altman, on felony theft charges on Wednesday.
Evidence leads investigators to suspect that some residents made utility payments directly to Altman through Cash App.
The investigation is ongoing.

MCDONALD COUNTY, Mo. — A McDonald County, Missouri, jury delivered its verdict in a road rage shooting on Highway 59 in Neosho that left a driver wounded.
Last May, Anthony Keller allegedly rammed another vehicle off the road, then fired at least one shot from a pistol.
The bullet hit the 59-year-old victim in the arm, sending him to a Joplin hospital with serious injuries.
A witness following the vehicles provided police with information that led to Keller’s arrest.
